Welcome to The Praesidium Agency
Travel insurance offers a broad range of benefits and services, such as medical evacuation, reimbursement for unexpected cancellation or delay, and more. Companies with employees who travel for business may want to consider supplemental coverage from a travel insurance policy.
Why Buy? Travel insurance is designed for problems that arise suddenly during a trip. Basic coverage usually includes reimbursement for trip cancellation, interruption and delay because of illness, bad weather, baggage loss or delay, medical insurance and medical evacuation (in case of illness or injury during travel).
For those on Medicare
According to Medicare.gov, the official Medicare website, “Medicare usually doesn’t cover health care while you’re traveling outside the U.S. There are some exceptions, including some cases where Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) may pay for services that you get on board a ship within the territorial waters adjoining the land areas of the U.S. However, Medicare won’t pay for health care services you get when a ship is more than 6 hours away from a U.S. port.”
Because Medicare and even your Medicare Supplement (if applicable) cover very little healthcare costs that you could potentially receive while travelling, we offer travel insurance to protect your finances while you travel abroad.
For those on employer provided plans
Medical care abroad is typically only covered if it is ruled a true emergency and depending on your plan it may not be covered at all. It is recommended that one check with their health insurance provider before traveling abroad to see what would be covered if an emergency happened.
